[blade polishing]
All styles of polishing are done with Japanese Stones to varying degrees.  I currently have a waiting list for
polishing, for information on waiting times and details of pricing please contact us.

STYLES AVAILABLE

Bujutsu:
If the weapon is intended for martial arts practice that includes things like Tameshigiri, then a
Bujutsu quality polish (Koma Nagura / Uchigumori stage) is all that will be needed.

Hybrid:
A fine style polish without the high cost of a full traditional polish. The majority of the work is done using
Japanese stones (Uchigumori stage) and finished by hand to bring out the varying characteristics of the
blade whilst presenting a very traditional look.

Traditional (Japanese):
There are two main types of Traditional Polishing; one is called Hadori Polish, the other is Sashikomi. I offer
both of these styles of polish on Nihonto to bring out all the full details. I am willing to polish blades that are
not of major historical importance; generally, this area includes Shinsakuto and Gendaito, and to a lesser
degree Shinto and Shinshinto. Polishing jobs will be accepted on a job by job basis.Blades that aren't
accepted will be referred to an agent to be sent to Japan for polshing by a togishi.
